Welcome!

I write children’s books from my home in suburban Los Angeles. An active member of SCBWI, 12X12, and Storyteller’s Academy, I’m working hard to break into traditional publishing.

Our warm and diverse writing community offers lots of resources and tremendous support. But there’s lots of rejection in our business, and I can forget to celebrate the “yeses.” So let me include here that I have written thirty-plus picture book texts for an educational app. My manuscript recently won First Runner Up in the Picture Book category in SCBWI-LA’s Writers’ Day 2024, and another of my manuscripts won Most Promising Picture Book at SCBWI CenCal Writers’ Day 2020. You can find my YA short story “Superpower” in Sucker Literary Anthology Volume 3 (G + G Books, 2014).

On the personal side, I am happily married with three kids and two grandchildren. No dog right now, but we’re tempted to rescue again. In previous lives I taught elementary school, both in the classroom and as a home/hospital teacher, and designed databases at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
